A pathway encircles the reflecting pool, which was once a water reservoir. The reservoir was decommissioned in 2013. It however, remains as an element of the park where people can sit and reflect and look at the city skyline, the Space Needle and Olympic Mountains. This is a classic view in Volunteer Park and highly recognizable by those who visit.
